hahaha yeah Im wondering what it’s about as well. Maybe the guy felt something, like static maybe? But yeah, the guy’s reaction was hilarious…

  4. Summit354 says:

Magic for people that have been drinking is the best.

And yea I’m pretty sure it’s ‘electric touch’ aka a visible static shock

As a fellow magician and streetperformer I wonder why magicians can’t dress up anymore?

  11. XmeliketocommentX says:

if you are doing “street” magic then u need more than some card tricks and same red balls lol….. get an invisible deck or the coin where you can put a cigarette through.. something more

  12. BensonBlack1 says:

Magicians dressd the way they did back then because that was the fasion at the time. Magicians do exactly the same to day.

  13. eddiedaskull says:

    wrong answer

Iam a professional street magician. When you wear a plaid shirt and jeans it will take a lot more work to stop people.

Also a magician needs to set the president that he is a special person or he has a better place to go and better things to do

Look at all the prints of magicians throu out history and you will find the magician is just slightly more exsentric or stylish

I mean how much effort goes on putting on a nice waist coat vest for christ sake

  14. eddiedaskull says:

    your wrong also

Yes an invisible deck is nice and yes cigarett throu coin is nice

But when you work the street it is far better to not rely totally on gimmicks

It is far better to rely on skill and slieght of hand and the connection with them

his magic is good because a lot of stuff is happening in the person’s hands”

Now as you I also have mixed feelings on the red clown nose ball but we can not deny the audience loves them

  15. BensonBlack1 says:

Dude, if you wanna talk credentials ive been doin magic for around 18 years. Ive traind with the best and won all major comps in the uk, ill be competing at the next fism. I think your thinking of STAGE magic. Which is an entirely different ball game. Its about creating a charecter because its theatre. In that arena i would agree that costuming is very important. On the streets its about relating to people which is easier to do if you look similar to them. otherwise you come across as the-

  16. eddiedaskull says:

    sure I bet your good

listen I work on the streets

They won’t give a shit about you unless you appear as if you have better thing to to better places to be

you can go the character funny approach

or you can go the slightly more stylish approach

A magician needs to come off as a rock star or a confident man of mystery

Sure the David Blaine’s plain tee shirt worked for him and now everyone wants to copy him even throu they don’t have his charisma or maturity

  17. BensonBlack1 says:

-pretentious asshole doin magic tricks. Do witches wear black cone hats? do french people wear onions around there necks??? of course not thats just a stereotype. Magic is never gonna progress if people keep holding on to the shitty image that some people have of i, top hats and bunnys or sawing in half. The youth of today need to take it and make it relevent to the society we live in thats how all art forms evolve. Look at Blaine and dare i say it Dynamo. These guys look just like you and me-

  18. BensonBlack1 says:

    - but there magic blows you away, WHY because your not expectin it in a million years. The magic is what keeps people hookd and amazed no fancy cloths. I do agree with you on the sleight of hand stuff though :-)

  19. eddiedaskull says:

sure dress like the guy on GQ is not relevent.

Dress like a rock star or a famous actor is also irrelevent

No I think I will wear white sneakers and baggy jc penny blue jeans, basebat hat on backwards and a schoolboys back pack to try to express worldliness and interuge and mystery

  20. eddiedaskull says:

your right if your magic blows them away

But often with strangers you need to stop them first.Nice clothes, mysterious cloths can buy you a couple of secounds

and if your magic is so kick ass don’t you want your clothes to match the level of your magic?

really what is the big issue about stepping up your outfit a tad bit if your a professional?

  21. eddiedaskull says:

Jeff Mcbride ,Kurt Krissler and Rocko Salino have all told me personally a magician needs to appear as if he has a better place to go and better thens to do.

Now all these magicians approach that situation very differently but I can asure you they don’t wear cloths from the salvation army or the Gap or Banana Republic

  22. BensonBlack1 says:

Yeah i meen its certainly not about being scruffy i think RELEVANT is a better word. I think Chriss Angel has got it right to be honest. He does looks relevant and when he does magic he looks like a magician. I think the key is finding the midway point and not being to much of one or the other. Also i think rocco has managed this.

  23. eddiedaskull says:

cool we are starting to understand each other

personally I feel a magician should offer a flare of danger especially when you have a large female audience.

I remember rocco when he accidently produces a small handgun or lady’s panties or a brandy glass

and Jeff when he does his karate moves and throws cards out in the audience

and Gazzo when he cuts his heckers down to size

  24. matthew8755 says:

I kinda nicked your transpo method at the start :P
